Spring 2023 Resources for Your Small Business

The library as a whole is an amazing resource for a variety of interests, hobbies and tasks. If you’re an entrepreneur, the library and our community partners can be a game changer in terms of getting your small business started.

SCORE Dallas Mentors and Workshops

Connect with a SCORE Mentor to receive free small business advice. Highly successful and experienced business professionals and entrepreneurs serve as SCORE mentors, delivering valuable, timely and practical advice on every aspect of business. This is a free service for start-ups or existing businesses.

Appointments are required, and SCORE Mentors meet at Schimelpfenig Library on Thursday evenings. Make an appointment by calling SCORE at 214-987-9491 or email Don Walter.

  • What Kind of Business Should I Start? January 26 at 6:30pm at Schimelpfenig Library. Do you feel the call to entrepreneurship but aren’t sure where to start? We’ll give you some things to think about based on your current financial situation. Register
  • Business Plan 101 March 23 at 6:30pm at Schimelpfenig Library. Learn the importance of having a business plan and essential elements to put you on the right path. Register

TUES, or Team Up for Entrepreneurial Success, is a monthly business resource and networking event presented by SCORE Dallas and Plano Public Library. Meetings are on the fourth Tuesday of the month at Haggard Library from 6:30-8pm. Here’s the spring 2023 schedule:

LinkedIn for Business Series | Wednesdays, March 8-April 5 at 3pm, Virtual
Learn how to expand your personal profile to build your business presence, highlight content and skills, and create a page highlighting available services. Register

Funding Options for Small Business | April 20 at 6:30pm at Schimelpfenig Library
Learn about important financial services available for your business and why you should start a banking relationship now. Put processes into place early on to prepare for a successful loan application. Hear what a Community Development Funding Institution may be able to offer. Presented by First United Bank, Regions Bank and People Fund
