Getting Started with Flipster
Do you love People magazine? How about Fortune? Save some money and download the Flipster app – all you need to get started is your library card.
Flipster is an online portal to digital magazines, available to people with a Plano Public Library card. You can see magazines through your Internet browser here or download the app to your Apple, Android or Kindle Fire device. We have more than a dozen current magazines available through Flipster, including:
- Rachael Ray in Season and Pioneer Woman Magazine
- Forbes and Bloomberg Business Week
- Time and Fortune
- Lonely Planet Traveler
If viewing through the browser, you will need your library card number to access magazines. Continuing reading for info on browsing magazines on the Flipster app on a mobile device.
After the app is downloaded on your device, search for your library (Plano Public Library or 75075). The app will prompt you to select your library and then enter your library card number. Once your account is set up you can scroll to see all eMagazines available.

Features on Flipster:
- Online and offline viewing
Flipster can be accessed online using a computer or mobile device. Offline viewing is available via the Flipster app for iPads, Android tablets and Kindle Fire tablets.
- Search and browse
Search by title and keyword, or browse by category. Issues can also be accessed from the Latest Issues and All Issues carousels on the home screen.
- Current and back issue availability
The most recent issue of a magazine title will be available on Flipster. To access back issues, open the most recent issue using your computer or mobile device and look for ‘All Issues’ in the right hand column on your computer or for ‘All Issues’ in the menu on your mobile device.
