Something About Libby: Agatha Christie
It’s the time of year to get cozy with a mystery! Learn how to find a fan favorite in the Libby app.

We recently ordered new copies of every title in the Agatha Christie Hercule Poirot series (over 40 titles) for the print collection – they are highly read and sometimes need an update! Find the print collection of Agatha Christie novels in the catalog.
But if you can’t make it into the library or want to get the books on your phone or tablet, check out the Libby app. Keep reading to learn how!
Agatha Christie on Libby
One of the neat features of the Libby app is the Search tool. Look for the magnifying glass on the bottom menu bar and click/tap it to bring up the search tool. You can choose a title, author, series name or keywords to begin your search. For this one, we’ve typed in “Agatha Christie” and tapped on the suggestion for Author.
Once you get to the page with results, there are many things you can do. First and foremost, you can browse the list and place holds or borrow titles you are interested in! Click/tap on the title to read the description and get more information about that book.
If you do not want to browse the entire list, you can filter the results! Click on the filter menu (the button with three lines on top of each other).
When the filter menu appears, you can:
- change the order of titles in the results list (date added, popularity)
- select only books or audiobooks
- see only titles that are available for immediate borrowing
- choose a subject/genre
When you click/tap on the title you’re interested in, you can also read reviews and learn if the book received any awards.
When you find a title you want, simply click/tap Borrow and begin reading.
Agatha Christie Read-Alikes
Like the style of the book you read, and want to see if there are others like it? Click/tap on the Similar button in the book synopsis! Scroll up to see this button in the image above. When you click/tap on this button, Libby will bring you a results page of similar titles:
You can also click on the genre buttons, like mystery and thriller, to find other titles in that genre. Use the search function again to search for words such as “detective” and “murder mystery” We have thousands of mystery books in our collection, both physically and digitally!
