Explore Space with NASA and the Library: The Solar System
Join NASA Solar System Ambassador Les Murray for a series of programs on our solar system. SSAs volunteers are trained by NASA Scientists, Project Managers, and Astronauts on NASA programs and missions. This season Les is presenting two exciting all-ages programs. Each event is ticketed, and tickets are available 30 minutes prior to the events:
Planetary Defense Mission – Saturday, March 11 at 3pm at Schimelpfenig Library
Is asteroid deflection possible? Hear about NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirect Test, or DART mission which changed the course of an asteroid through kinetic impact.

Exploring Jupiter’s Icy Moon – Saturday, April 22 at 3pm at Davis Library
Is there potential for life on Europa, Jupiter’s moon? Learn how NASA will use Europa Clipper’s instruments to map the surface composition of Jupiter’s icy moon and collect samples of Europa’s surface.
Continue your space exploration with Les Murray’s Discover Mars and Explore the Night Sky workshops, available on our YouTube channel.
