October Technology Classes

You can expect a variety of technology classes throughout the year at Plano Public Library. Whether you’re looking to get started on 3D modeling or boost your video editing skills, we have a class for you. Events at the library are free and do not require a library card. Virtual programs are recorded and posted on the library’s YouTube channel, so subscribe to the be the first to know when new videos go live. 

The latest Engage brochure is available for downloading on the Plano Public Library website or you can pick up a printed copy at any of our five locations. You can also browse our upcoming events on our online calendar. Here’s what’s coming up this October. 

Essential Skills 

Computer Skills: Security Tips and Tricks 

Learn basic concepts about keeping yourself safe online.

Adobe Creative Cloud 

Photoshop: Demotivational Posters 

Monday, October 10 at 3 pm on Zoom (Grades 6-12, registration required) 

Tired of boring “motivational” posters? Spice things up and learn some real world Photoshop tools at the same time by make demotivational posters! 

In addition to the live Zoom class, we will stream to the library’s YouTube channel and keep the recording for future viewing. Premiere Pro: Basics 

Learn the basics of video editing by creating a project, importing media, using common editing tools, and final export process.

Photoshop: Painting Basics 

Learn basic techniques for digital painting in Adobe Photoshop. All skill levels welcome.

STEAM 

Digital Music Creation with GarageBand 

Create original compositions, use built-in musical loops and record with microphones using GarageBand.

3D Printing and Design 

Intro to 3D Printing 

Learn about the additive manufacturing process to make three dimensional objects and see a 3D printing machine.
