Adapted Library: Fall Programs
Adapted Library supports neurodivergent access to library programs: adapted programs are sensory-friendly targeted toward the needs of neurodivergent children, teens, adults, and their families/caregivers. Neurodivergent includes autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder, Tourette’s, and other developmental and learning disabilities.
Registration for Fall 2024 Adapted Library programs opens September 1. For more information and registration details, please email LibraryAdapted@plano.gov.
In addition to our regular adapted programming such as Adapted Storytime and Adapted Science Explorers, we offer a variety of adapted programs for all ages:
Adults, Ages 13+
Adapted Meal Planning – Learn about balanced nutrition, portion control, and healthy food choices to stay energized and focused all day.

Adapted Art Social Hour – Learn about process art as we create art together in a sensory-friendly environment.

Adapted Dance Party – Move your body to your own rhythm and dance till you drop!

Adapted Sensory Playdate – Explore colors, sounds and textures in a sensory-friendly environment.

Adapted Art Adventurers – Structured art projects in an inclusive environment. Create a guided art activity or design your own masterpiece. Activities are scaled for all ability levels, fun for the whole family!

Adapted Glitter Jar – Join us for a short storytime, then create a glitter jar and learn how to use it in a breathing mindfulness activity.
