Halloween at the Library
Once there was a witch who grew the biggest pumpkin ever, and wanted to make a pie for Halloween…
It’s Big Pumpkin puppet show season! This puppet show, based off author Erica Silverman’s children’s book Big Pumpkin, is the story of a group of spooky characters attempting to get a large pumpkin off the vine in order to make a tasty pie.
At this all-ages event, we read Halloween stories aloud, watch the Big Pumpkin puppet show and trick-or-treat around the library. Costumes are welcome and encouraged. Big Pumpkin is all month long, showing at each of the five locations starting this Thursday:
- Thu, Oct 10 at 10:30 am at Haggard Library
- Fri, Oct 11 at 11 am at Parr Library
- Sat, Oct 12 at 11 am & 12 pm at Davis Library
- Tue, Oct 15 at 10:30 am at Harrington Library
- Wed, Oct 30 at 10:30 am at Schimelpfenig Library
- Thu, Oct 31 at 6:30 & 7 pm at Schimelpfenig Library
We host puppet shows year-round, along with other early learning, reading readiness events – free for the whole family. See pages 6-9 of our fall Engage brochure to see what’s coming up:
