June Technology Classes

Summer is here, so wax your keyboards and get ready to surf the web. Whether you’re looking to beat the heat or just dipping your toe into Cricut, Plano Public Library is here for you! Join us as we learn how to create a book in InDesign, and bring the creatures from your epic fantasy novel to life with Blender. We’ve got classes for technology hobbyists and technology beginners alike – and the best part is programs at the library are free (and do not require a library card)! Online programs require registration via Zoom. For ticketed programs, free tickets are available in person 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. Virtual programs are recorded and posted on the library’s YouTube channel.

Tuesday, June 6 at 6:30pm at Harrington Library (Ages 13+) Apply basic photo post-processing edits in Lightroom to organize, enhance and export quality photos

InDesign: Create a Book

Sunday, June 18 at 2pm at Parr Library (Adults) Learn how to apply book formatting standards in InDesign including margins, drop caps, page numbers and more


Cricut

Cricut: Machine Overview

Thursday, June 15 at 3pm on Zoom (Adults, registration required) Is it Cricut or Cri-cut? Does it cut paper or vinyl? Clear up the confusion and learn the basic features of a smart cutting machine

Ready to apply your new technology skills? Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis at all five library locations with your Plano library card. You can use our 3D printing services to print your objects (20 cents per gram with a $1 minimum) at the Davis, Harrington and Parr libraries.
