Family Place Playgroups

Raising children can spark lots of questions. The Family Place™ Playgroup offers caregivers the chance to ask important questions from child development experts in our community one-on-one. Each playgroup is a five-week session of fun, play-based activities for toddlers aged zero to three and their grownups and includes information on a variety of child development topics.

Each playgroup session includes:

Weekly Topics

What should you expect? Is that normal? At our playgroups, you can meet child development experts from our community to ask questions and talk one-on-one or in small groups about your concerns. Each session covers a new topic related to child development and parenting, including:

Resource Materials

Explore recommended library materials, free handouts, and community resources related to each week’s topic. You’ll find titles from our Parenting Collection, handouts and brochures, useful websites, and a variety of children’s materials to check out and explore together.

Art Exploration

For in-person playgroups, the art exploration area provides opportunities to create and explore using open-ended materials. For virtual programs, participate in a step-by-step activity with your child using common household supplies. You can also explore some of our favorite activities from past sessions here and in our blog posts
