Family Place is going virtual!
It’s a new year, and our Family Place Playgroup is back for families to learn and play together. Make a virtual playdate with the library!
Join Plano Public Library on Zoom for a virtual Family Place Playgroup. Join us online to spend time together with your child, make new friends, and talk one-on-one with child development specialists:
- Participate in a hands-on activity with your child
- Share songs and rhymes, and
- Ask questions of local child development experts from our community.
During Family Place Playgroup, you will learn ways to spark learning and play at home with common household supplies. This program is designed for parents and caregivers with a child aged 0 to 3.
Our virtual session runs from January 27 to February 24, and meets Wednesdays starting at 10 a.m. Register for the entire session on Zoom, then attend whichever dates work best with your schedule and needs. Each playgroup will last between 30 and 45 minutes. Library staff and resource professionals will be live on camera, and your family can join with video if you feel comfortable.
Just like our in-person playgroups, we’re focused on creating learning opportunities and connecting your family with community resources.
Each week will feature its own topic and have a new activity for you to try at home. Your reminder email will include a list of supplies so you can participate alongside us, and a handout will include instructions and additional information for future reference. Play is an important part of your child’s learning, and we’ll be sharing some fun ways to explore that learning at home. We’ll also share some of our favorites rhymes and songs together each week.
Raising children can spark lots of questions, and our community resource partners are here to help answer them. Each playgroup session will include information from a special guest, as well as space for you to Ask the Expert any questions you might have. You can ask your questions live during the session, or submit them anonymously if you prefer.
