A would-be bank robber interrupts an open house for a Stockholm apartment. The would-be buyers assume they are now hostages. When the situation is over, the robber is missing, and there is blood on the rug. A father/son police duo are tasked with investigating what happened. As they interview the hostages, a quirky assortment of characters is revealed. A retired couple who renovate apartments for something to do. A widow missing her late husband. An actor dressed as a rabbit hired to interrupt the open house in an absurd attempt to lower the asking price for the property. What really happened during the hostage situation? Where is the robber? The event changes the lives and viewpoints of the hostages and creates some unexpected friendships. It is a story sometimes hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking.
