New Year, New You: Engage with Plano Public Library

Enrich your holiday break and work on resolutions with help from the library.

Over the past nine months, the library has offered more than 550 virtual workshops (reaching 14,500+ people!), in addition to the many online services such as ebooks, online tutoring, premium business databases and reference help. The library has a lot to offer, especially now that so much is readily available virtually! Sometimes it can be overwhelming with the many ways you can learn something new, so we’ve put something together for our community: New Year, New You – Learning Paths.

For the next six weeks, follow Learning Paths in seven areas of interest: Arts & Culture, Business & Job Seeking, Early Learning, Financial Literacy, Genealogy, STEAM and Technology. Use our suggested calendars to explore these topics through pre-recorded library workshops, online resources and items from the library collection.

You can download all seven calendars in one go, or look through the different categories below and pick specific ones.

Arts & Culture

Whether you’re interested in local artist exhibits, learning from Spotlight Artists, learning a new language or exploring the best way to add salt to a dish, the library has you covered. This six week calendar takes you on a tour of culinary worlds, art styles and more. Download the calendar below.

Business & Career

With this six week calendar, you will be able to learn new skills through Lynda.com (LinkedIn Learning), staff-taught technology classes, and digital resources like eMagazines on PressReader and EBSCO eBooks.
