RBdigital and Flipster have your favorite magazines digitally – for free – from Plano Public Library.
Your Plano Public Library card gives you access to a whole lot more than the books on our shelves. We have thousands of books, audiobooks, videos, newspapers and magazines online for you to view and check out where ever you are.
Flipster is a free app that you can log on to with your library card and PIN (last four digits of your phone number). There are several ways to get to it:
Check out our Getting Started with Flipster blog post for a helpful video and information on features on Flipster to explore.
Magazines on Flipster do not need to be checked out — simply select the title, and from there you can open any of the archived issues that are available. Time magazine, for example, goes all the way back to April 2014.
RBdigital has eMagazines as well as eAudiobooks, Great Courses videos and newspapers.
- Start by navigating to the RBdigital button under eAudiobooks or eMagazines on the eBooks & More page of our website
- Click on “Create a New Account” and enter your library card number
- After that, you can use RBdigital through your web browser or through your iOS/Android device by downloading it from the App Store or Google Play Store
Service Change: as of October 2020, RBdigital only has digital magazines available to library card holders. For Great Courses, check out Kanopy. For even more magazines and newspapers, check out PressReader. For audiobooks, check out Overdrive or the Libby app. Head to our eBooks and More page for details.
Check out our Getting Started with RBdigital blog post for more details information on RBdigital features.
Tap “Checkout now” on an eMagazine cover to check out the issue, then “Start Reading Now” to open it. eMagazine checkouts do not expire, and you can have up to 30 checkouts out at a time. You can also download the items that you have checked out on RBdigital and print eMagazines in the browser version.
If you need help or run into problems, both Flipster and RBDigital’s websites have online tutorials and help sections. For in-depth one-on-one assistance, you can meet with our staff by appointment using our Book-A-Librarian service.
