This fall has been all about transportation, with even more happening this December.

“My Next Stop Is…” was first displayed at Harrington Library in November

The Annual Student Art Contest is one of the Dallas-Area Rapid Transit‘s most popular events, and this year’s theme is “My next stop is…” Students created dozens of works of art depicting the great adventures you can have on this rail system using conceptual thinking and problem solving skills. Come by Schimelpfenig Library throughout December to see more than 30 works on display, as well as the newly renovated library space!


Ever wondered how Toyota came to be the world’s largest auto manufacturer? Join us at Parr Library on Saturday, December 14 at 2 pm when Toyota representatives present the all-ages program, “Calling All Innovators.” Put your creativity and engineering skills to work with a building activity while learning about Toyota’s Jikotei-Kanketsu (JKK) principle.

Make your own paper airplane or helicopter to beat our obstacle course

Our final transportation-themed event of the season is the Paper Airplane Challenge! On Sunday, December 29 at 2 pm at Davis Library, you will learn how to build a variety of paper airplanes and helicopters, and see if they can survive the obstacle course. Whether a Glider, the Sprinter, the Buzz or a creation all your own, do you have what it takes to win?
